If you wish to keep using your removable dentures but would like more security and freedom, we can secure them in place with the use of our life changing implants. These might be two standard implants with press-stud type attachments or if these are more than you have budgeted for why not have four mini, or midi implants. These are about half the price of standard implants and take about an hour to fit and you leave the practice wearing your own newly secured denture. It is possible to help hold in place a small partial denture with mini implants, they are not exclusive to full dentures. Once the implants are in place the cost of new dentures is little more than a normal set of dentures would be.

In an experiment where patients were given blocks to chew. There were three groups, those that wore full dentures without any implants, those that wore dentures with two standard implants and those that had their own natural teeth and it was found that people with just dentures chewed their food twice as long and only reduced the size of the block by about 20% of that of someone with their own teeth and yet still taking twice as long. People with two standard implants managed to break the block down by 80% in half the time thus matching normal eating behaviour much more closely.
If someone can’t chew effectively they either swallow bigger pieces of food or have to eat much softer items. This can lead to the commonest complaint in the older population that a doctor sees; gastric complaints.
